Is this a wedding cake?
We received a phone call from the Otaihanga Boating Club asking if we could help.
A friend had collected a wedding cake from Wellington and the cake had not made the trip well at all, as the top tier had slipped. She was obviously upset as it was her friend’s wedding cake. With the wedding only hours away, we said we would give it a go, not knowing what sort of icing was on the cake, or if we would be able to do a quick fix.
When the cake arrived at the bakery it was obvious that it was not a quick fix and it would need to be stripped, and started again. We only had a few hours to get the cake finished and delivered to the venue, but we worked really hard and were very pleased that we were able to help them out, as no one wants a cake looking like that on their wedding day.
