Relay for Life Kapiti took place at Mazengarb Reserve, Paraparaumu, on Saturday and Sunday, to raise money for the Cancer Society. “We had a fabulous Relay for Life thanks to the Kapiti community and the weather,” co-ordinator Anne Brunt said. “There were 22 teams and around 500 people involved.
“The Relay always had 60 or more walkers on the track and some of them walked great distances. “Connor Galway, 10, and Adrienne Slowman, 11, did a full marathon.

Kapiti Cakes & Bakery donated a cake to the cause. All Kapiti Cakes & Bakery staff donated their time so that we could keep open all night and support those doing the Relay, raising money for such a great cause.

I did the midnight till 4 am shift, and when I arrived the whole place was still very much alive and buzzing with people! sold a few pies and coffees over the 4hours, and had a chat to a few people. I would definitely volunteer my time again to be part of something very very special 🙂

If you have a community event coming up and need a cake, contact us and we can sort something out.
